Shakhtar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano was charged with "violating the principles of conduct" by UEFA for an incident in his team's 5-2 Champions League win at Nordsjaelland on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when a Nordsjaelland player was injured and Shakhtar's Willian kicked an uncontested drop ball downfield intended for the Nordsjaelland goalkeeper.
However, Adriano raced to the ball and dribbled around the goalkeeper to score the equalizing goal despite furious protests from the home side's players.
Referee Antony Gautier allowed the goal because it did not violate any of the laws of the game, but UEFA has decided to take an ethical stance and has charged Adriano, which could force him to miss his team's final group stage match against Juventus on Dec. 5.
The case will be heard next Tuesday.
