Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love will start Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets at Target Center.

Love broke the third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand while working out during the preseason and has missed the first nine games for the Wolves, who are 5-4 without their man in the middle.

Love, 24, was the fifth overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008, but was shipped to the Timberwolves on draft day. In four seasons with Minnesota, Love has career averages of 17.3 points and 12 rebounds per game.

Love also had a streak of 53 consecutive double-doubles in 2010-11, a run that fell two games short of an NBA record set by Elvin Hayes, who went 55 straight games with a double-double in 1973-74.
