San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith reportedly won't play Monday against the Chicago Bears as he continues to recover from a concussion.
Smith was hurt last Sunday against St. Louis when he took a hit to the neck area and had been listed as questionable on the team's injury report after being a limited participant in practice this week.
However, ESPN has reported that Smith did not pass a concussion test and was not medically cleared to play.
Colin Kaepernick is set to start Monday against the Bears in a what would be a battle of backups, as Jason Campbell will start at quarterback for Chicago while Jay Cutler also recovers from a concussion sustained last week.
