Arda Turan's 61st-minute goal was enough as Atletico Madrid held off Granada, 1-0, to close to within three points of leaders Barcelona.

Granada had the first good chance of the contest when Gabriel Torje's first- half effort smacked off the post, but it was Atletico that found the net in the 61st minute.

Jorge Koko got down the right wing and delivered a cross into the area that found Turan, who redirected the ball past goalkeeper Tono with his left foot at close range.

Atletico was made to see out the final 20 minutes of the game with 10 men after defender Mario Suarez collected a second yellow card for handling the ball.

But the visitors were more of a threat going forward than Granada as striker Radamel Falcao nearly added to the lead with a shot from long distance.

Riki stepped to the spot for Deportivo but he fired his shot over the net, squandering a great chance to level the contest.

Celta Vigo 1, Mallorca 1

Vigo, Spain - Celta Vigo and Mallorca both extended winless streaks on Sunday as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Balaidos.

Park benefited from a nice cross by Iago Aspas to level the match, although Mallorca came closest to winning it as goalkeeper Javi Varas produced a fine stop to keep out an effort from Hemed.
