Thunder, Grizzlies set to tangle in OKC

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies will put their recent success to the test when they visit Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday.

The Grizzlies have won six in a row and 11 of their last 12 games. The winning ways continued with Saturday's 99-90 triumph versus Milwaukee, as Nick Calathes made his first career start and recorded 22 points.

"I knew coach had a lot of confidence in me. He started me. That showed me that he had a lot of confidence in me. My job was to run the team," Calathes said.

Calathes made 4-of-5 3-pointers and Memphis went 6-of-10 from downtown. He started in place of Mike Conley, who sat with a sprained right ankle and is not expected to play on Monday.

Zach Randolph totaled 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Marc Gasol contributed 19 points for Memphis, which beat the Bucks for a seventh straight time.

Memphis has won six in a row on the road.

The Thunder, meanwhile, look to get back on track after having a 10-game winning streak cut short with Saturday's 96-81 loss at Washington. The Thunder went 2-1 on the trip and Durant was held under 30 points for the second straight game, finishing with 26 points, seven assists and five boards.

Serge Ibaka and Reggie Jackson scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Oklahoma City, which shot just 39.7 percent and failed to score 100 points for the first time since Jan. 14 in a 90-87 loss to Monday's opponent, the Grizzlies.

"We started off the game with 10 turnovers in the first quarter," Oklahoma City head coach Scott Brooks said of the difference in the game. "We've been a lot better with the turnovers. Tonight it got away from us."

The Wizards totaled 23 points off 21 OKC turnovers.

Oklahoma City has won six in a row at home and has a 20-3 record at Chesapeake Energy Arena this season. It will also welcome Minnesota to town.

Durant is still averaging 36.3 ppg in his last 14 contests and dropped 37 on the Grizzlies last month at FedExForum. The Thunder have won five of the last eight at home versus Memphis.
