Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin is in jeopardy of missing the team's upcoming matchup against NFC North rival Detroit after severely spraining his ankle in Sunday's game at Seattle.

Harvin hurt himself on a rushing attempt late in the third quarter of the Vikings' 30-20 loss to the Seahawks. Though he did not come out of the contest, the standout playmaker entered the Vikings' facility on crutches on Monday and told reporters the ankle was sprained in three different places.

An MRI taken Monday confirmed a significant sprain, though Harvin did not sustain any fractures.

"I'm in a lot of pain," Harvin said. "There's a lot of swelling as of right now. My whole ankle, all the way around is swollen. So we've got a lot to work to do. It's a longshot (to play Sunday). But I'm not ruling myself out."

Harvin has battled various injuries all throughout his four-year career, but hasn't missed a game since Week 14 of the 2010 season. The versatile wideout is having a terrific 2012 campaign, as he currently leads the NFL with 62 receptions for 677 yards and also stands atop the league with a 35.9 yard average on kickoff returns.

The 24-year-old has scored five touchdowns through Minnesota' first nine outings: three as a receiver, one as a rusher and once on returns.

Harvin was held to season lows of two catches and 10 receiving yards against Seattle, however, with the injury clearly a factor in his limited production.

Minnesota does have a bye in Week 11 following Sunday's showdown with the Lions.

Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier also termed defensive tackle Letroy Guion questionable against Detroit due to a turf toe injury, while tight end John Carlson is expected to practice this week after missing the last two games with a concussion.
