Georgia Southern All-America nose tackle Brent Russell was arrested by Bulloch County police Saturday night and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a law enforcement officer, the university newspaper reported Monday afternoon.

Russell's arrest occurred a few hours after the Eagles lost a home game to Southern Conference rival Appalachian State, The George-Anne reported.

According to the report, Russell was arrested outside of Rude Rudy's restaurant after police arrived on the scene to break up a fight in the parking lot, asked him to leave several times and he did not comply.

Russell, a 6-foot, 300-pound senior from Corner, Ga., is a three-time nominee for the Buck Buchanan Award which honors the FCS outstanding defensive player. He made The Sports Network FCS All-America first team as a junior last year.

Georgia Southern, ranked seventh nationally, has a 7-2 record and is in first place in the SoCon.
