Owings Mills, MD – Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was activated off the physically unable to perform list Saturday and could be available for Sunday's game against Houston.
Suggs returned to practice only this week after recovering from a torn Achilles. He suffered his injury in late April and underwent surgery in early May.
Last year's NFL Defensive Player of the Year was unsure during the week if he would play Sunday. The Ravens have a bye next week, which would give Suggs extra time to practice and get into game shape.
However, the Ravens have had numerous injuries to their stellar defense, as star middle linebacker Ray Lewis is expected to be sidelined until at least late December because of a torn triceps, while cornerback Lardarius Webb was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week because of a torn ACL.
Suggs had a banner 2011 season for the Ravens, posting 14 sacks with 70 tackles, seven forced fumbles and a pair of interceptions.
Baltimore released linebacker Sergio Kindle to open a roster spot for Suggs.
