Els withdraws from PGA Grand Slam of Golf

Ernie Els has withdrawn from the upcoming PGA Grand Slam of Golf due to a left ankle injury.

Padraig Harrington will replace Els and join Masters Champion Bubba Watson, U.S. Open Champion Webb Simpson and defending champion Keegan Bradley in Bermuda at Port Royal Golf Course, Oct. 23-24, 2012.

"I am thrilled to return to Bermuda to play in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf," said Harrington, who participated in the event in 2007 and 2008. "While my entry into the field is under unique circumstances, I am excited to compete in the event again. I came close the last two times I was there -- losing in playoffs to Angel Cabrera in 2007 and Jim Furyk in 2008. So maybe the third time will be a charm."

Els won the Grand Slam of Golf in 1997 and 2010.
