Richard Petty Motorsports continues relationship with Ford

Kansas City, KS – Richard Petty Motorsports revealed on Friday the racing organization will continue its manufacturer partnership with Ford for the 2013 NASCAR season.

RPM will field Ford Fusions for its two Sprint Cup Series teams and Ford Mustangs for its lone Nationwide Series team. It will be fourth consecutive season the team has raced with the automaker. RPM also noted the continuation of its contract agreement with Roush Fenway Racing and Roush Yates Racing as suppliers of new cars and engine support for the team.

In the past three seasons with Ford, RPM has notched two wins in Sprint Cup and one victory in Nationwide. The organization has also recorded a combined 26 top-five finishes and 74 top-10s as well as eight poles in both series.

"Our team relationship with Ford Racing has helped us win races and be competitive in both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series," team co-owner Richard Petty said. "They have been our partner over the past three seasons, and we're proud to continue that relationship into next season, especially with the debut of the new (2013) Ford Fusion in the Sprint Cup Series. We expect to continue to win races and challenge for championships in both series with Ford Racing."

RPM first partnered full-time with Ford at the start of the 2010 season.

"We're delighted Richard Petty Motorsports will continue to run Fords going forward," said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing. "The team has certainly gained momentum this year, and together we believe the continued Ford technical tools and engineering support will further enable RPM the opportunity to win more races and be a contender to get drivers into the Chase in 2013."

Aric Almirola (No. 43 Ford) and Marcos Ambrose (No. 9 car) currently drive for RPM in Sprint Cup, while Michael Annett is behind the wheel of the No. 43 entry for the team in Nationwide. Both series are competing at Kansas Speedway this weekend.
