The New York Yankees made it official on Sunday and replaced injured shortstop Derek Jeter with infielder Eduardo Nunez on their ALCS roster.

Jeter suffered a broken left ankle during the 12th inning of Saturday's series opener against Detroit and will not play again this postseason. Nunez, who was part of New York's ALDS roster, had been deactivated prior to the start of the ALCS to add an extra pitcher.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Sunday that Jeter will undergo more tests before a decision on treatment is made.

Jayson Nix was in the lineup as New York's shortstop for Game 2 on Sunday.
