Elliott Sadler will start on the pole for Friday night's Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race after topping his Richard Childress Racing teammate, Austin Dillon, in qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Sadler, the current points leader in the series, posted a lap at 184.237 mph for his fourth pole of the season and the 15th of his career. It's also the first time he will start up front for a Nationwide race at Charlotte.

Dillon, a rookie in the series this year, turned in a qualifying lap at 184.005 mph to give RCR the front starting row for this 300-mile event.

Joey Logano qualified third, followed by Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the defending Nationwide champion, and Kevin Harvick.

Kyle Busch, Brian Scott, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Sam Hornish Jr. completed the top-10. Danica Patrick will start 11th.

Sadler enters this race with a nine-point lead over Stenhouse and a 25-point advantage over Dillon.

T.J. Bell, Joey Gase, Matt Carter and Morgan Shepherd failed to qualify.

The race is scheduled to start just after 7:30 p.m. (ET).
