PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen suffered a torn hamstring in training with Sweden and will be sidelined six months, it was announced Friday.

The 26-year-old Toivonen was injured Thursday and returned to the Netherlands, where the extent of the injury was confirmed. Toivonen will need surgery and is expected to be sidelined up to six months.

Capped 29 times for Sweden, Toivonen had three goals in six Eredivisie matches for PSV this season.
