The Cincinnati Reds have decided to start Mike Leake on Wednesday in Game 4 of the NLDS against the San Francisco Giants.

Electing to start Leake means Johnny Cueto's oblique strain is pretty serious. Cueto, who left Game 1 with the injury, can't return until the World Series, should the Reds make it that far.

Leake is 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA over his last three starts against the Giants and gave up one run on nine hits during a complete-game victory on June 29 in San Francisco. He was 8-9 with a 4.58 ERA overall this season.

Mat Latos, who came on in relief of Cueto in Game 1, will pitch Game 5 if necessary.

The Reds head into Wednesday's game with a 2-1 series lead.
