Fresh from Medinah flop, Tiger Woods hopes to someday captain US team at Ryder Cup

Tiger Woods hopes to captain the U.S. Ryder Cup team someday. He still plans to play in a few more before that happens.

Woods is coming off a disappointing performance at Medinah. He secured only half a point in his seventh Ryder Cup appearance as Europe retained the title Sept. 30.

Woods says "when my golfing life is slowing down and when it's over, that would be a huge honor to be a part of a Ryder Cup from a captaincy side."

Woods arrived Monday for the $5.3 million Turkish Airways World Golf Finals, an eight-player event being promoted simply as "Tiger v Rory."

McIlroy, who plays Woods on Wednesday, says he hasn't "touched a club since the Ryder Cup."
