CLEMSON, S.C. – Quarterback Tajh Boyd has been around Clemson long enough to know that he isn't only going to hear praise and optimism even with the No. 16 Tigers at 5-1 going into an off week.
Boyd figures some people will be asking if Clemson can be ready for its next game, even after bouncing back from a loss to Florida State with two wins.
The skepticism isn't farfetched, Clemson has had a habit of falling apart after success. The Tigers have gone through a stretch of losing three out of four games in all but two seasons since 2000.
But coach Dabo Swinney says this year's team is different. And the Tigers have a lot to play for in the Atlantic Coast Conference with Florida State losing Saturday night.
