Yuto Nagatomo was sent off in the 48th minute, but it didn't stop Inter Milan from claiming a vital 1-0 win over AC Milan at the San Siro on Sunday.
Veteran defender Walter Samuel scored the lone goal of the match, which lifted Inter to a third straight victory.
Inter improves to 15 points on the season, eight points better than struggling Milan, which has lost four league games thus far.
The lone goal came in just the second minute of play. Samuel arrived at the six-yard box to nod home a set-piece delivery from Esteban Cambiasso.
Nagatomo was issued a second yellow card of the match after he was whistled for a blatant hand ball three minutes into the second half, but Milan failed to take advantage of the extra man.
Napoli 2, Udinese 1
Naples, Italy - Napoli scored in the dying minutes of the first half to seal a 2-1 win over Udinese on Sunday, keeping pace with first-place Juventus.

But Juve pressed forward for a winner and was rewarded six minutes from time when Marchisio charged into the area after a cross and scored on a volley from 14 yards.

Cagliari 1, Torino 0
Turin, Italy - Cagliari became the last team in Serie A to claim a win this season as Nene's 74th-minute penalty kick was all that was required in a 1-0 victory over Torino.
Cagliari had lost its previous three games and would have been propping up the table if not for a six-point deduction against Siena.
But that run of futility came to an end on Sunday as Torino's Kamil Glik was called for handling the ball inside his own penalty area with under 20 minutes to play.
Nene stepped to the spot and drove the ball down the middle past a diving Jean Francois Gillet in the Cagliari net.
