The Detroit Tigers finalized their 25-man roster for the American League Division Series and outfielder Brennan Boesch was among those who didn't make the cut.

Boesch hit .240 in 132 games this season with 12 homers, but had seen limited action recently. He played just once in the final 10 games.

Detroit, instead, decided to keep utilityman Don Kelly and infielder Danny Worth to add depth.

The remaining position players include Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Omar Infante, Jhonny Peralta, Ramon Santiago, Quintin Berry, Andy Dirks, Delmon Young, Austin Jackson and Avisail Garcia, as well as catchers Alex Avila and Gerald Laird.

One pitcher left off the roster was Brayan Villarreal, who struck out 66 batters in 54 2/3 innings over 50 games. He also had a 2.63 ERA and a record of 3-5.

Al Alburquerque, who missed most of the season recovering from elbow surgery performed last December, is on the roster. He appeared in eight games after returning in September and allowed just one run in 13 1/3 innings with 18 strikeouts.

The other pitchers are Game 1 starter Justin Verlander, Doug Fister, Anibal Sanchez, Max Scherzer, Rick Porcello, closer Jose Valverde, Joaquin Benoit, Phil Coke, Octavio Dotel and Drew Smyly.
