Georgia Southern totaled 614 yards on the ground as they beat Western Carolina in a Southern Conference showdown 45-13 Saturday.

The Eagles (4-1, 3-1) scored on their first two possessions. Darreion Robinson broke free for a 48-yard touchdown run and Dominique Swope ran it in from 5 yards to give Georgia Southern an early 14-0 lead. Robinson finished with 124 yards on 11 carries, and Swope rushed 20 times for 117 yards.

Western Carolina (1-5, 0-4) scored its first points of the game on Troy Mitchell's 11-yard run, cutting the lead to 14-6 at the end of the first.

Georgia Southern's defense dominated, and its running game continued to impress as the Eagles outscored Western Carolina 31-7 the rest of the way. William Banks and James Dean added 101 and 95 yards rushing, respectively, and two scores.

Georgia Southern has won 18 straight games against Western Carolina.
