Closer Chris Perez wants the Indians' next manager to match his passion and intensity.

Perez said Tuesday that while he personally likes Manny Acta, he disagreed with the fired manager's laid-back approach.

The right-hander thinks both leading candidates for the permanent job, interim manager Sandy Alomar Jr., and former Boston Red Sox skipper Terry Francona would be a better fit.

Perez said Cleveland's second-half collapse was embarrassing and believes the Indians have a good foundation on which to build. He also emphasized that he has not asked to be traded and wants to be part of a winner in Cleveland.
