Oakland Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes was voted the American League Rookie of the Month for September.
Cespedes batted .257 with seven home runs, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored over 28 games to claim his first rookie honor.
The Cuban native finished first among rookies in homers, RBI and slugging percentage (.532), while tying for first in doubles (five) and triples (two).
Other players considered for the award included Cespedes' teammates A.J. Griffin and Jarrod Parker, Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish and Baltimore third baseman Manny Machado.
