London, England – QPR's search for its first win of the season continues after the club sustained a 2-1 defeat at Loftus Road against West Ham on Monday.
The home side has lost four of its first six games and sits on the bottom of the league with two points, while West Ham's return to the top flight has started well with the Hammers sitting in seventh place.
The visitors took the lead inside of three minutes on Monday as Kevin Nolan's scuffed shot looped to the back post for Matt Jarvis, who nodded it past goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
West Ham's second goal arrived in the 35th minute when James Tomkins crossed from the right wing and found Ricardo Vaz Te at the back post, where he volleyed the ball past the 'keeper from a tight angle.
Adel Taarabt came off the bench in the second half and instantly injected life into the team as he curled a fantastic shot inside the right post one minute after entering the game.
But 15 minutes from time, QPR went down to 10 men after Samba Diakite received his second yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Guy Demel, snuffing out QPR's hopes of snatching a point.
