Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Alessandro Matri scored in an eight-minute stretch of the first half as Juventus cruised to a 4-1 win over Roma on Saturday in Serie A.
Juventus extended its unbeaten start with its fifth win during a six-match run without a loss, and extended its league undefeated streak to 45 matches dating back to the last game of the 2010-11 season.
Unbeaten last season in Serie A to claim the league title, Juventus has stayed in form this season.
Veteran Pirlo sparked the latest win with a free-kick goal to the bottom-right corner in the 11th minute. Vidal doubled the lead from the penalty spot with a finish to the bottom right, and assisted on the third from Matri in the 19th.
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for Roma in the 69th minute for his third goal, but Sebastian Giovinco responded for Juve with his third goal in the closing minutes.
Juve opened a three-point lead over Napoli, which visits Sampdoria on Sunday. Roma lost for the second time this season and is eight points off the pace in eighth place.
Parma 1, AC Milan 1
Parma, Italy - Daniele Galloppa scored in the 66th minute as Parma secured its third straight tie, 1-1, against AC Milan on Saturday in Serie A at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Stephan El Shaarawy scored his fourth goal five minutes after halftime for AC Milan, which was unable to hold on and dropped points for the fourth time this season in just six matches.
Galloppa split the points when he converted a free kick from just outside the penalty area to the bottom-right corner.
Parma has six points from six matches, 10 points behind first-place Juventus. Milan is already nine points off the pace of defending champion Juve in 10th.
