The Houston Astros named Bo Porter as their next manager, according to a report by MLB.com.

Porter is in his second season as the third-base coach of the Washington Nationals. The 40-year-old was also the Miami Marlins third-base coach and baserunning instructor from 2007-09 and served as the Arizona Diamondbacks third-base coach in 2010.

The Astros have called a 10 a.m. CT Thursday news conference at Minute Maid Park.

Houston named Tony DeFrancesco as its interim manager last month following the firing of Brad Mills.
