Milan, Italy – Stephan El Shaarawy helped AC Milan reverse its poor record at the San Siro this season by grabbing a brace a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Wednesday.
Neither AC Milan nor Inter Milan have won a home match in any competition so far this season, but that disappointing streak came to end with El Shaarawy netting what turned out to be the game-winner in the 15th minute.
Milan's task became a little easier in the 66th minute when Cagliari's Daniele Conti was sent off.
El Shaarawy took advantage of the extra man eight minutes from time, doubling Milan's lead with his third goal in the club's last two league matches.
The victory snaps a two-game losing skid for Milan, which improves to six points on the season. Cagliari remains third from bottom on two points.
Inter Milan 2, Chievo 0
Verona, Italy - Inter Milan scored on either side of halftime at the Stadio M.A. Bentegodi on Wednesday to claim a 2-0 victory over Chievo.
Alvaro Pereira opened the scoring two minutes before the break before Antonio Cassano put the result beyond any doubt in the 74th minute.
Inter climbs to fourth place in Serie A with nine points while Chievo's fourth straight loss leaves the club stuck on three points.
Napoli 3, Lazio 0
Naples, Italy - Edinson Cavani ran rampant at the Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday, producing a hat trick in Napoli's 3-0 defeat of Lazio.
The Uruguayan scored in the 19th, 31st and 64th minutes and could have added a fourth had he converted a penalty in the 76th minute.
Napoli improves to 13 points on the season to keep pace with Juventus atop the table while Lazio drops to fifth place with nine points.
Catania 2, Atalanta 1
Catania, Italy - Catania bagged two goals in the span of 12 minutes to rally for a 2-1 win over Atalanta at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Wednesday.
Maximiliano Moralez opened the scoring for Atalanta in the 50th minute, but the lead was quickly overturned thanks to Nicolas Spolli a minute later. Pablo Barrientos completed the comeback in the 63rd minute to snap Atalanta's two- game winning run.
Catania improves to eight points on the season to move into the top-half of the table.
Roma 1, Sampdoria 1
Rome, Italy - Sampdoria played down a man for half of the match but still managed to rally for a point in a 1-1 draw with Roma on Wednesday.
Francesco Totti gave Roma the lead in the 34th minute, but Gianni Munari equalized just after the hour mark despite Enzo Maresca's sending off at the midway point.
Sampdoria remains unbeaten thus far with 10 points through five games, two points better than Roma.
Genoa 1, Parma 1
Genoa, Italy - Marco Borriello converted a late penalty to see Genoa claim a point in a dramatic 1-1 draw with Parma on Wednesday.
Parma looked to be close to securing its second win of the season when Alessandro Lucarelli's goal held the club's lead heading into the final minutes, but Borriello scored from the spot in the 88th minute to earn Genoa a share of the spoils.
Parma has drawn two straight to improve to five points while Genoa climbs into the top-half of the table on seven points.
Pescara 1, Palermo 0
Pescara, Italy - Vladimir Weiss netted a late goal to give Pescara its first win of the season in a 1-0 home defeat of Palermo.
Palermo's Steve von Bergen was sent off in the 35th minute, but Pescara was made to wait until the 86th minute for a breakthrough as Weiss bagged the game-winner with just four minutes to go.
Pescara climbs out of the relegation zone to improve to four points while Palermo suffers its fourth loss from its opening five games.

Turin, Italy - Udinese extended its unbeaten streak to three games on Wednesday, playing to a 0-0 draw with Torino at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.
