The San Antonio Silver Stars signed forward Sophia Young to a multi-year contract extension on Monday.
Young averaged 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 2.1 assists in 33 games this season.
"We are so pleased to announce that Sophia Young will continue to bring her outstanding play to the Silver Stars into the future," said San Antonio head coach and general manager Dan Hughes. "Her play and leadership this year has been an example of what Sophia has brought us game in and game out for the past seven years and we are so glad to go into the future with Sophia in the Silver & Black."
Selected fourth overall by the Silver Stars in the 2006 draft, Young is the franchise leader in games played (255), steals (428), total rebounds (1,626) and points (3,630).
San Antonio will face the Sparks in the Western Conference semifinals. The best-of-three series begins Thursday in Los Angeles.
