Seoul, Korea – Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki needed only 62 minutes to beat No. 3 seed Kaia Kanepi of Estonia, 6-1, 6-0 to win Sunday's title match at the Korea Open.
Wozniacki avenged a third-round loss to Kanepi at the French Open by winning 17 of her 18 first-service points. It was the Dane's first title of the year and 19th of her career.
"I'm just happy I won the tournament," said Wozniacki. "I want to enjoy it and be positive. I want to build up for the next season and hopefully my results this week will help me move forward and get back to playing my best."
Kanepi has won two titles this year, capturing the season-opening event in Brisbane and the French Open tune-up in Estoril back in May.
Wozniacki leads Kanepi in their head-to-head series, 4-2.
