Marseille, France – Marseille maintained its perfect start to the Ligue 1 campaign on Sunday with a narrow 1-0 win over Evian at the Stade Velodrome.
The home side has now won its first six games to start the season, but Sunday's win wasn't straightforward.
Morgan Amalfitano scored the only goal of the contest in the 33rd minute when he made a run to the near post and redirected Mathieu Valbuena's free kick past goalkeeper Stephan Andersen.
Evian created a few chances of its own after halftime, but Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda kept his side in front by first producing a save on Mohammed Rabiu before denying a header from Jonathan Mensah nine minutes from time.
Bordeaux 2, Ajaccio 2
Bordeaux, France - Bordeaux stayed unbeaten on Sunday but was denied its third win of the campaign by a stoppage-time equalizer from Ajaccio's Chahir Belghazouani, forcing the home side to settle for a 2-2 draw.
After a scoreless first half, Bordeaux opened the scoring through Carlos Henrique in the 54th minute before Ajaccio answered 10 minutes later with a goal from Ricardo Faty.
Yoan Gouffran's header in the 78th minute from six yards had Bordeaux in position to claim the win, but Belghazouani had other ideas as he latched on to a long ball from Carl Medjani to beat goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso two minutes into added time.
Lille 1, Lyon 1
Lille, France - Lisandro Lopez preserved Lyon's unbeaten start to the season with a brilliant strike in the 80th minute that allowed his team to snatch a 1-1 draw at Lille on Sunday.
Nolan Roux handed Lille an early lead when he was on the other end of a cross from Mathieu Debuchy to fire the ball home from close range after seven minutes.
And although Lille continued to press the action, the club was unable to add to its lead and paid for it in the final 10 minutes.
Alexandre Lacazette's pass found Lopez and he unleashed a rocket from 25 yards that sailed past goalkeeper Mickael Landreau to secure a point for Lyon, which stays in second place with the result.
