Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has signed with Dynamo Moscow of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League on Wednesday.
Ovechkin, who turned 27 on Monday, is back with the team he played with during the 2004-05 lockout as he signed a contract with the club that will last until the lockout ends.
He totaled 38 goals and 27 assists in 78 games with Washington last season, his lowest point total since entering the NHL in 2005.
The two-time MVP has posted 339 goals and 340 assists in 553 games with Washington, and has added 30 goals and 29 assists in 51 playoff games.
Also, Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk and Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov both signed with CSKA Moscow of the KHL.
