Ottawa, ON – Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek is on the mend following surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle.
The Citizen reported Monday that it was required to fix an injury suffered during training in August. The procedure was performed last week in Philadelphia, and is expected to keep the 27-year-old out of action for 4-to-6 weeks.
Michalek posted a career-best 35 goals with 60 points in 77 games for Ottawa last season.
