Everton midfielder Darron Gibson is facing up to five weeks out because of a thigh strain.

Gibson sustained the injury in Everton's 2-0 defeat at West Bromwich prior to the international break and sat out Ireland's World Cup qualifying match with Kazakhstan last weekend.

"Darron's got a thigh strain and will probably be out for four to five weeks now," Everton manager David Moyes said. "He's had two weeks now so hopefully we are a couple of weeks down the line already because of the international break."

The 24-year-old joined the Toffees from Manchester United in January and has started Everton's first three league games this season.
