The Baltimore Orioles on Thursday selected the contracts of outfielders Endy Chavez and L.J. Hoes from Triple-A Norfolk, and designated both pitcher Kevin Gregg and infielder Ryan Adams for assignment.

Chavez had been designated for assignment on Aug. 4, and played in 15 games for Norfolk after being sent outright to the club. In 47 games earlier this season with the O's, he hit just .190 with two homers and eight RBI.

Hoes was a .300 hitter with three homers, 38 RBI and 54 runs scored in 82 games with Norfolk since his early-season call-up from Double-A Bowie.

Gregg was 3-2 with a 4.74 earned run average in 40 games for Baltimore in 2012.

Adams was a .224 hitter in 65 games at Norfolk this season.
