Seattle Sounders FC forward Eddie Johnson was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Week for Week 27 on Monday.
Johnson scored both goals - including the 89th minute game-winner - in Seattle's 2-1 win over Chivas USA on Saturday at CenturyLink Field.
The win lifted Seattle into second place in the Western Conference, six points back of leaders San Jose.
With the two-goal effort on Saturday, Johnson becomes Seattle's single-season scoring leader with 13 goals, which ranks fourth in MLS this season.
The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, radio media.
