Seattle, WA – The Angels activated pitcher Scott Downs from the bereavement list among several roster moves Saturday.
Downs last took the mound on August 26 at Detroit, allowing a run on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.
For the season, the 36-year-old reliever is 1-1 with a 3.08 earned run average in 44 appearances.
The Halos also recalled four players from Triple-A Salt Lake: catcher John Hester, pitchers Andrew Taylor and Nick Maronde and infielder Andrew Romine.
Hester, 28, hit .212 with three homers and four RBI in 38 games for LA this season from mid-May to mid-July.
