Milwaukee, WI – Kevin Frandsen's error opened the door and the Milwaukee Brewers took advantage with Corey Hart's go-ahead grand slam in eighth inning in a 7-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Cliff Lee tied a season-high with 12 strikeouts, and with the Phillies ahead 4-3, was in line for his third win of the season, but Frandsen's low throw from third base skipped past first baseman Ryan Howard. That allowed Rickie Weeks to reach base with two outs, and set the wheels in motion for a Brewers comeback.
Josh Lindblom (2-3) relieved Lee and intentionally walked Ryan Braun, who hit a pair of solo homers earlier in the game. Aramis Ramirez walked before Hart sent a fly ball to right field.
Domonic Brown, who made a leaping catch against the side wall in foul territory one inning prior, saw the ball carom off the top of the wall and then off the back part of his glove and over the fence.
"I was trying to get him out with a fastball up in the zone," Lindblom said. "I was coming at him and changing speeds to keep him off balance. They're a good fastball hitting club. If you're able to keep your stuff down in the zone, your chances are good. He did what good hitters are supposed to do."
Hart, who struck out three times Thursday, hit his second career grand slam.
"It was a tough game before that," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "He really did a nice job to battle back. That was a tough slider with two strikes on him. He (Lindblom) got the pitch up a little bit."
The Phillies loaded the bases against Manny Parra and Jim Henderson in the final inning, but Erik Kratz grounded out to end the game with Henderson securing his third save of the year.
Livan Hernandez (4-1) struck out two batters in the eighth inning and the Brewers snapped a three-game skid, but won their seventh straight at Miller Park.
Milwaukee jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opener of this four-game series when Braun and Ramirez hit back-to-back homers in the first inning.
Jimmy Rollins scored on a Howard ground ball in the third inning. Chase Utley's takeout slide disrupted shortstop Jean Segura, who dropped the throw from Weeks.
Braun smacked his NL-leading 31st homer of the year in the fourth, a 445-foot blast to center field.
Frandsen's three-run double to the gap in left-center field the following inning provided the Phillies with a one-run edge.
