The Boston Red Sox activated pitcher Andrew Bailey from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Bailey has been sidelined since the start of the season after undergoing right thumb surgery.

The 28-year-old right-hander was dealt to the Red Sox from Oakland in late December, then signed to a one-year deal in January which avoided arbitration. He was 0-4 with a 3.24 earned run average and converted 24 saves in 42 games for the A's last year.

Bailey has a 7-10 record with 75 saves and a 2.07 ERA in 157 career games.
