The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Nate Schierholtz on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a fractured right big toe.

Schierholtz has batted .219 (7-for-32) with a home run and two RBI in 11 games for the Phillies after coming over from the San Francisco Giants at last month's trade deadline. Schierholtz was part of the return for outfielder Hunter Pence.

Infielder Hector Luna was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill the vacant roster spot. He has appeared in 26 games with Philadelphia this season, hitting .246 with 10 RBI.
