Kenny McLean and Sam Parkin scored as St Mirren downed Dundee, 2-0, on Saturday at Dens Park to move into first place in the Scottish Premier League.

McLean scored six minutes before halftime and Parkin in the 63rd minute, as St Mirren added to its draw against Inverness in its opener last weekend.

With Celtic in the United States for a friendly against Real Madrid, its match against Dundee United was postponed. That helped St Mirren overtake those two, and Hearts, for the top spot.

Newly-promoted Ross County tied Aberdeen at the Pittodrie, 0-0, as it remained unbeaten through two matches in the SPL. Ross County is unbeaten in 36 matches overall in league play.

Manuel Pascali scored in first-half stoppage time as Kilmarnock earned a point at Inverness with a 1-1 draw. Killie also missed a penalty kick and played the final 12 minutes with a man advantage, as it wasted a chance at full points.

Robert McHugh scored in the 74th minute as Motherwell tied St Johnstone, 1-1, in a game both sides finished with 10 men. St Johnstone also missed a penalty, and played with a man advantage for more than 30 minutes.

Hearts visits Hibernian on Sunday.
