USA's Felix gets elusive 200 gold

Allyson Felix of the United States finally won gold in the women's 200 meters, while compatriot Carmelita Jeter claimed bronze.

Felix, runner-up to Jamaica's Veronica Campbell-Brown at the previous two Olympics, posted a winning time of 21.88 seconds. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the Jamaican who has won the last two 100-meter golds, including one earlier in the competition at the London Games, was .21 seconds behind for silver.

Jeter, who won silver in the 100 on Saturday, was just .05 seconds behind Fraser-Pryce for bronze.

Campbell-Brown was fourth with a time of 22.38 seconds. She was trying to become the first woman to win gold medals in the same track and field event at three straight Olympics.

American Sanya Richards-Ross, the 400-meter champion in London, placed fifth.
