The Oakland Athletics placed pitcher A.J. Griffin on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder.

Griffin left Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning due to the injury. He was called up from Triple-A Sacramento on June 24 and went 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in eight starts.

The A's also recalled pitchers Pedro Figueroa and Evan Scribner from Sacramento. Outfielder Michael Taylor was optioned to Sacramento.

Figueroa has appeared in nine games for Oakland this year, while Scribner has one save in 12 contests for the A's.

Taylor was recalled from Sacramento Friday and went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in two games.
