Swiss Spirig wins women's triathlon

Switzerland's Nicola Spirig edged Sweden's Lisa Norden in a photo finish Saturday to win the women's triathlon at the London Olympics.

The two finished with the same time -- 1 hour, 59 minutes and 48 seconds -- but Spirig was given the victory. Australia's Erin Densham was two seconds further back and took bronze.

Spirig became the second Swiss won to win the women's triathlon, which has been an Olympic event since 2000. That year, Brigitte McMahon earned gold.

American Sarah Groff finished in two hours flat to take fourth Saturday, while the British Helen Jenkins was 19 seconds further back and ended in fifth.
