Bob and Mike Bryan captured Olympic doubles gold on Saturday with a straight-set win over the French tandem of Michael Llodra and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at Wimbledon.

The American twins posted a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) victory on Centre Court at the All England Club to complete their own Golden Slam. The Bryans have 11 Grand Slam titles and Saturday's win gave them an Olympic championship as well. They came up short in their quest for Olympic glory four years ago in Beijing with a bronze medal.

"It's just something that you dream about," said Mike Bryan. "To add the 'Golden' in front of the 'Slam' is pretty cool. Watching the flag go up, hearing the national anthem, you just want savor those moments."

A quick break of Tsonga's serve to start the match was the only advantage the Bryan brothers needed to secure the first set. Llodra and Tsonga failed on six break-point chances in the first and didn't have a break opportunity in the second set.

The Bryans failed to convert their lone break chance in the second set, which went to a tiebreaker that the Americans dominated. A double-fault by Tsonga and a slam by Mike Bryan gave the U.S. team a 5-1 edge in the tiebreak.

On the first match point, Bob Bryan chased down a Tsonga slam near the back wall and lofted a perfect lob to keep the point alive. Llodra soon after netted a forehand volley off a Mike Bryan stroke to give the 34-year-old brothers the title.

It was the first Olympic doubles gold for an American team since 1988 when Ken Flach and Robert Seguso won in Seoul.

"We've won a lot of Slams. Slams are awesome," Bob Bryan said. "I can tell you there's no better feeling than this right now. Winning for each other, for our team, but for our country. It brought a different level of intensity to our tennis this week."

A French team also captured the bronze medal, as Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet earned a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 victory over Spain's David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez.
