Argentina handles Nigeria in men's hoops

Luis Scola had 22 points and Argentina handled Nigeria, 93-79, in the men's basketball tournament.

Carlos Delfino and Andres Nocioni added 18 and 17 points, respectively, for Argentina, which improved to 3-1 in Group A and will close the preliminary round on Monday against the Unites States.

Ike Diogu had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Nigeria, which fell to 1-3 in group play. Derrick Obasohan tallied 15 points and six boards.

Nigeria, which was coming off an 83-point loss to the Americans, was never able to recover after falling behind 37-19 at the end of the first quarter.

Argentina, which led by as many as 26 in the game, shot 51 percent from the floor and went 11-of-18 from beyond the arc.
