The Detroit Tigers activated outfielder Andy Dirks from the 15-day disabled list Friday.

Dirks has been sidelined since May 31 with right Achilles tendinitis.

The 26-year-old was batting .328 with four homers, 16 RBI and 24 runs scored in 37 games for the Tigers this season.

Detroit designated outfielder Don Kelly for assignment to make room on the roster for Dirks.

Kelly hit .175 with a home run and seven runs batted in through 64 games for Detroit this year.
