Aberdeen, Scotland – Aberdeen picked up defender Gary Naysmith on Wednesday, signing the Scotland international to a one-year contract.
Naysmith left English side Huddersfield Town at the end of last season and hooked up with the Dons during their preseason tour of Germany this summer.
And his performance was enough to convince manager Craig Brown to hand him a contract.
The 33-year-old has spent time with Everton, Hearts and Sheffield United, and has earned 46 caps for Scotland during his international career.
Aberdeen will open its SPL season on Saturday against defending champions Celtic.
