The Minnesota Vikings waived defensive back Nicholas Taylor to kick-start a process which will eventually land him on injured reserve.
Vikes head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed that Taylor underwent an MRI which revealed a damaged shoulder that is poised to keep the Florida International product out for a while.
"We're going to end up having to put him on injury, waive him, and eventually bring him back on injured reserve," Frazier said after a Monday practice session. "He tore the labrum, I think it was, so it's going to require surgery, major surgery, so it's going to take awhile, I think three to four months, maybe."
To fill the roster spot, Minnesota signed defensive back Chris Stroud, a rookie out of Webber International.
