Nationals release Xavier Nady

Washington, DC – The Washington Nationals have unconditionally released infielder/outfielder Xavier Nady.

Nady, 33, appeared in 40 games with Washington this season and batted .157 with three home runs and six RBI after the club signed him to a minor league deal in the offseason.

Over 920 games with the Padres, Mets, Pirates, Yankees, Cubs, Diamondbacks, and Nationals, the 11-year veteran has a .271 average with 100 homers and 399 RBI.
