San Francisco Giants infielder Pablo Sandoval left Tuesday's game in the third inning with an apparent hamstring injury.

Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin ripped a grounder to the right side but it was speared by Ryan Theriot. Theriot flipped the ball to shortstop Brandon Crawford, who jumped and delivered a throw to Sandoval at first. Sandoval went into a split to catch the ball before Quentin crossed the base and was able to keep his foot on the bag to complete the inning-ending double play.

Sandoval popped up after the catch and limped off the field and was later replaced by Brandon Belt.

Sandoval smoked a RBI double off the wall in the first.

The two-time All-Star will undergo and MRI on Wednesday.

"It's really a bad break," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said of Sandoval's injury. "He's been locked in at the plate and it's a really tough loss."
