Jakub Blaszczykowski ended speculation of a potential exit from Borussia Dortmund by signing a new four-year contract with the Bundesliga champions on Tuesday.
The Poland captain had been the subject of transfer rumors with a host of top European clubs in the running to land his signature, but Blaszczykowski opted to remain in Germany by putting pen to paper on deal that will keep him at Signal Iduna Park until 2016.
"I am very happy to be remaining in Dortmund," Blaszczykowski said. "There are not many clubs who have so many fans and who have achieved what we have done over the past two years. I am very happy about this new contract."
The 26-year-old joined Dortmund from Wisla Krakow in 2007 and has played a major part in helping the German club claim successive Bundesliga titles as well as last season's DFB-Pokal Cup.
