Lions cut Berry after most recent arrest

The Detroit Lions have terminated the contract of cornerback Aaron Berry, who was arrested on Saturday for the second time this offseason.

According to a report on the team's website, Berry was released due to "personal conduct which adversely affects the club."

The report stated that Berry was arrested and charged with three counts of simple assault on Saturday in his hometown of Harrisburg, Pa., for allegedly brandishing a firearm.

Berry, who is entering his third NFL season, was also arrested in June on suspicion of driving under the influence and several other related counts.

The University of Pittsburgh product played each of his first two seasons with the Lions, appearing in 12 games -- four starts -- over that span. He recorded 31 tackles and 11 passes defended last year.

Also on Monday, the Lions signed first-round draft pick Riley Reiff.
